Welcome to the Somaliland Engineering Association (SEA). These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the SEA website, services, membership programs, consultation services, and all related platforms (collectively, the "Services").
By accessing, registering with, or using any of our Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use our Services.
SEA is the nationally recognized professional engineering body of Somaliland. Membership and use of our services signify your commitment to upholding the highest standards of engineering ethics, professionalism, and national development.
Membership is open to qualified engineers who hold accredited degrees in engineering disciplines recognized by SEA and who meet the professional standards established by the Association.
Members must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and maintain the accuracy of their profile. Misrepresentation of qualifications, credentials, or professional standing is grounds for immediate termination.
Membership fees are set by the SEA Executive Council and are subject to annual review. Fees are non-refundable except in cases of administrative error.
All members are bound by the SEA Code of Ethics, which requires:
Violation of the SEA Code of Ethics may result in disciplinary action including warnings, suspension, or permanent expulsion from the Association.
SEA provides professional engineering consultation services to individuals, institutions, government bodies, and private sector partners. All consultations are delivered by qualified, accredited engineers.
All consultation work is performed in accordance with recognized engineering standards, national regulations, and international best practices. SEA does not guarantee specific project outcomes but commits to professional diligence.
Consultation fees are agreed upon in advance and documented in a written engagement letter. Payment terms, deliverables, and timelines are specified in the engagement agreement.
SEA maintains strict confidentiality of all client information. Non-disclosure agreements are executed where required by the client or the nature of the project.
All content on the SEA platform including text, graphics, logos, icons, images, reports, publications, and software is the property of SEA or its licensors and is protected by Somaliland and international intellectual property laws.
Users may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, publicly display, or exploit any content without prior written permission from SEA.
Members and users who submit content (including activity posts, reports, comments, or media) grant SEA a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute such content in connection with the Services.
Users are solely responsible for the content they submit and must ensure it:
SEA reserves the right to remove any content that violates these Terms without prior notice.
SEA is committed to protecting the privacy of its members and users. Our collection, use, and storage of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
We collect only the data necessary to deliver our Services and do not share personal information with third parties except as required by law or with explicit consent.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SEA shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Services.
SEA's total liability for any claim arising from the Services shall not exceed the amount of fees paid by you to SEA in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
SEA does not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.
SEA may suspend or terminate your membership or access to the Services at any time for:
Members may resign at any time by providing written notice to the SEA Secretariat.
Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Services shall first be addressed through good-faith negotiation between the parties. If negotiation fails, the dispute shall be submitted to mediation under the rules of the Somaliland Chamber of Commerce.
As a final resort, disputes shall be resolved by the competent courts of Somaliland. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Somaliland.
SEA reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered members and posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
